Museum Goals and Policies
It is the goal of the Timber Lake and Area Historical Society to preserve the history of the Timber Lake area and the cultures of its people. It will be the goal of the museum to collect items of scientific, historic, or cultural significance and interpret them. By operating this museum the Historical Society assumes custodianship of these items and the public trust of this responsibility.
It shall be the job of the Historical Society to collect, catalog, clean, repair, care for and, when appropriate, display for the general public those items which best tell the story of this part of South Dakota.
