| The Timber Lake and Area Historical Society Resource Center, located across the street from the museum in the library building, is home to the Society’s extensive collection of photographs, family histories, interviews, books, maps, records, scrapbooks and other materials.
One major resource is the Donna Cummings Hueschen Collection more than 20,000 pages of history of the French-Indian families of the Cheyenne River and Standing Rock Reservations.

An expansive collection of work by Frank Cundill, Honyocker Photographer is held by the Timber Lake and Area Historical Society. The local images taken by Cundill cover a time period from 1911 until the mid 1920s and were taken in Dewey and Corson counties (the Cheyenne River and Standing Rock reservations) of South Dakota. The organization continues to gather more photos and develop the collection. At present there are 235 original glass plates, 47 original negatives, 30 original lantern slides, hundreds of original post card prints, as well as carte-de-visite, cabinet mounts and other Cundill family photographs from the 19th Century.
